There are many known fig leaves tea benefits and the main benefit is for diabetic and pre-diabetic patients.  According to the data from 2014 via the CDC website, 8.9% of Americans have been diagnosed with Diabetes and 8.1% are undiagnosed. So that means 17% of the US population has diabetes or pre-diabetes and finding a natural treatment is imperative.

While fig leaves and diabetes go hand and hand, there are many more fig leaves benefits than just for diabetes.

If you look back to the Adam and Eve days, we see that they were covered from their nakedness with fig leaves, thus we see a huge market for fig leaf clothing and lingerie.

Some 50,000 years later we are now seeing that fig leaves were a lot more than just coverings for the bodies.  Fig leaves are used in recipes also.  Fig leaves are use in many recipes by top chefs like Martha Stewart and Food and Wine Magazine articles.  We even have a delicious fig and honey ice cream.  Fig leaf tea benefits are many.

Some of the benefits of fig leaves include: treating diabetes to treating bronchitis, genital warts, liver cirrhosis, high blood pressure, skin problems and ulcers.  And now research has shown that fig leaf benefits include HIV and Cancer.

While the main reason to use fig leaf tea is for diabetes, you can place the tea in your daily routine for a huge amount of reasons now.  Especially if you are a lover of specialty teas and food.

FIG LEAVES AND DIABETES

It is best to check with your doctor before beginning this protocol if you are on insulin or any medicines at all.  The fig leaf tea concoction will change your sugar levels.

Back in 1998 research showed that fig leaves made a huge difference in sugar levels of patients using fig leaf tea.  The research group was divided into two groups.  The group that had the liquid extract of fig leaves with their breakfast showed a significant lower  blood glucose level.  The group receiving the fig leaf extract showed  a 12% reduction in glucose levels.

When I wrote on the subject in 2009 the natural world went crazy.  The problem was that no one was selling fig leaves.   I created the first ever shop for fig leaves and to this time we sell out of fig leaves each year due to high demand.

THIS IS THE FOOD PROCESSOR I HAVE.
More than 5 million people have linked to one video on You Tube swearing this has saved their life. WRONG!!  I watched the video and this is not how you pick and or dry the leaves properly.  First they picked the leaf all the way back to the main limb of the tree and then after washing the leaves, they dry the leaves on the ground, outside in the very hot sun.  Again this is wrong.

How Do You Properly Dry Fig Tea Leaves?

You should take a sharp serrated kitchen knife and grab a bunch of leaves together in your palm and take the knife and cut close to the the leaf leaving around a 2 inch space.  Place the leaves on a big sheet or in a large hamper  to wash them in.

Using a regular outdoor hose, wash the leaves down through the mesh bag or place the bag in the washing machine and wash for a few minutes on your lowest speed.  Now you can hang the bag to drain or spin dry the bag for a few minutes until the water is gone and the leaves are dry.

Now place the leaves on a clothes drying rack or an open one with a sheet or light cloth lining the rack.  Place in front of a bright sunny window inside your home.

A couple times a day go to move the leaves around on the drying rack so they dry properly.  During the drying time you can take a pair of scissors and chop off the excess stems.

Once the leaves are thoroughly dry, take your hands and crunch the leaves to small pieces.  Then using a food processor, chop the leaves to tiny pieces for your fig leaf tea.  You can store your fig leaf tea in plastic bags or large covered storage container.

NOTE:  YOU MUST HAVE A HEAVY DUTY FOOD PROCESSOR.  DO NOT BUY A CHEAP ONE.  YOU WILL BE PROCESSING MANY MANY POUNDS OF DRY LEAVES TO GET A SMALL AMOUNT OF TEA LEAVES. 10 KILOS OF DRY LEAVES EQUAL 1 POUND OF FIG TEA LEAVES.

CONCLUSION
Fig tea leaf benefits are outlay the benefits of recipes, but you will see more recipes posted on this website as eating fig leaves is beneficial for your health and mine.  Make sure to visit us often.  My fig leaves are the best in the world.
